Water Activity and Moisture Content Testing
Water activity and moisture testing support safety, storage stability, and product quality.
Overview
Water activity measures how much of the water in cannabis is "available" to support microbial growth. Moisture content measures the total amount of water held inside cannabis material, expressed as a % of the product's weight.
Water activity
Colorado MED regulations require water activity testing for cannabis flower harvest batches except fresh frozen batches. Additional cases may include concentrates produced from failed yeast and mold material and decontaminated flower batches.
Moisture content
Moisture content testing helps operators evaluate product condition, storage risk, and consistency. We perform moisture content free of charge with a potency submission.
Turnaround
Water activity and moisture content testing are typically available in 2–3 business days, rush services available.
